CBTS UK organised a highly successful Charity Event in support of Rural Villages in Nepal

Eventually, the ultimate day arrived, 15th Jan 2011, which was inquisitive to most of the people, “The charity Dinner Party”. The magnanimity dinner party was organised by Char Bhanjyang Tamu Samaj UK, at Aldershot in Connaugth School with the purpose of raising funds for the Char Bhanjyang Area Development Project. The event started at 4:00 pm sharp in the main hall of Connaugth school, where the beautiful young girls and the smartly attired executive committee members with medals on their blazers welcomed all the guests at the main entrance with a gracious and amicable manner.

The function hall was decorated grandly with the souvenirs of Nepal and well adorned walls. Sitting arrangement for each guest was very well organised, with their names displayed in their respective places. The tables were beautifully bedecked with the clean white sheets, event schedule chart, bottles of wine, glasses, cutleries, and the starters were elegantly and attentively served.

The youth committee members of CBTSUK Mr. Missan Gurung and Mrs. Sanju Ghale Gurung were the emcees of the event who lead the function smoothly and effervescently. The cultural programme co-ordinator of CBTSUK, Mr. Prakash Gurung and Baba Aama team performed ‘Salaijo’, a popular folk song of Parbat district, which was so frisky that it tempted our guests to shake their hips with the rhythm of the song. Cultural and some modern dances were awesome and mesmerising, which brought everyone into trance.

What a pleasant co-incidence! A surprised birthday Celebration was organised for Mrs. Emma Foxley, one of the donors, who shares her birthday on the same date and, it was like a cloud nine for the association to get the opportunity to wish and celebrate the birthday together. The Charity dinner was a huge success and it is pleased to announce that thousands of pounds were raised for the charity.

To be honest these donors are the heroes and a source of inspiration to all the members of Char Bhanjynag Tamu Samaj and the people of Nepal. Their contribution to a charity is a giant step for the people of Char Bhanjyang and with the help of projects like tele-medicine link and the establishment of medical clinics, the unfortunate and disadvantaged people of Nepal will be able to enjoy a medical facility in a full extent. I believe this is one of the eminent ways to save the planet and make the mother earth a better place.

Hats off to the generous donors!!!
