Friday 20th November 2009 was a remarkable day for me and my wife Bimla. I had the great honour and privilege to meet and have lunch with Lord and Lady Swinfen at the House of Lords. It was a pleasant surprise given by Lynda Memsahib (SCT consultant) after Maj Hugh Bardell Sahib received his well deserved MBE from Prince Charles at the Buckingham Palace. We had a good conversation with the Lord and Lady Swinfen about the Swinfen Charitable Trust and Telemedicine Links. The Trust was also providing much needed help to my poor country Nepal, where so many people die without any help. They were looking for someone to run London Marathon for the Trust. I there and then volunteered to run.I started my training at the end of Nov 09 and raising money for the charity from end of December 09. After 5 months hard training and commitment to raise maximum money for the charity, the much looked forward day has finally arrived.

When the flag went up at 0945 hrs, 36550 runners set off from Greenwich. It was great feeling at the start point that you are taking part in such a prestigious world event with the professional runners and celebrities around the world. There was tremendous support and big cheer up from the public throughout the race. It was so nice of them offering fresh orange, sweets, chocolates etc. There were all sorts of band, Jazz, bagpipes music and dances going on throughout the race. Some spectators were shouting to me, “come on Telemedicine.” It was so fantastic.
